Kayla Ripple
Kayla Ripple leads outreach and engagement for the Pew marine fellows program, working with staff, fellows, and others to create engagement strategies that strengthen research impact and collaboration. She previously supported outreach for the Lenfest Ocean Program at Pew, connecting research with management and decision-making.
Before joining Pew, Ripple coordinated the Saving Animals From Extinction program at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), which was designed to increase collaborative conservation practices among AZA members, partners, and visitors. She previously managed the science program at the Coral Restoration Foundation, conducting field work and working across sectors to improve the effectiveness of coral restoration strategies in Florida and in the Caribbean. Ripple holds a bachelor’s degree in marine science and biology from the University of Tampa and a master’s in fisheries and aquatic science from the University of Florida.
